Disclosure and Class Agreement

Daily Procedures:                                   Take your seat. Follow directions (Posted on the board or verbal).  We will have assigned seats this year to help with ‘tracking” who each student will be in close proximity to during class.
We will begin each class with a “self starter” quick sketch.
It will only take 2-5 minutes to complete.  Write the number next to each sketch.

Use time wisely.  Put forth your best effort.
Clean up/Dismissal procedure: About 8 minutes before the end of class; STOP working when I say it is time to clean up.  SANITIZE your table, seat and all supplies that were used, PUT AWAY your art supplies and project (Art portfolio/folder), make sure your area is CLEAN, PUSH in your chair and STAND BEHIND it and WAIT until you are dismissed.
Expectations:                                                                                             Be Respectful
Keep a good attitude- You will develop your skill if you open your mind to learn and practice.
Try your best- I believe that All who TRY can make beautiful artwork.                                                         “We must have courage to bet on our ideas, to take the calculated risk, and to act. Everyday living requires courage if life is to be effective and bring happiness." - Maxwell Maltz
- I know that as you Keep a positive attitude, DO your personal best and practice courage You WILL improve your skill and Build your Self-Esteem. “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” Albert Einstein                                                                                   Be careful not to compare yourself to others, only compare yourself to your previous effort. “Comparison with myself brings improvement, comparison with others brings discontent.” Betty Jamie Chung
“Comparison is the thief of joy.” Jon Foreman
I have High Expectations for my Art Students. I will encourage you to improve and do better each day.
Have fun and enjoy exploring your creativity.  I hope to create a fun, inviting, inspiring environment where your creativity can flow.

Uncompleted assignments and projects will be completed in ZAP.

Grading: 50% Participation and 50% Assignments.                                                      The participation grade will be determined by being on time to class, completing the “self-starter” sketch, being respectful, having a good attitude, being responsible (use of time and with the supplies, etc.), showing effort, having a good work ethic and cleaning up after yourself.
The assignment grade will be determined by worksheets and your projects that are completed.  Both the student and I will fill out a rubric to assess the grade for each project.
Eight Expectaions for Living
  • We will value one another as unique and special individuals.
  • We will not laugh at or make fun of a person's mistakes nor use sarcasm or putdowns.
  • We will use good manners, saying "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" and allow others to go first.
  • We will cheer each other to success.
  • We will help one another whenever possible.
  • We will recognize every effort and applaud it.
  • We will encourage each other to do our best.
  • We will practice virtuous living, using the Life Principles.
